The Disaster Management Cell/Committee of Jawahar Lal Nehru Government College Haripur, Manali is constituted to ensure the safety, preparedness, and well-being of students, faculty, non-teaching staff, and visitors during natural and human-made disasters. The committee works in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of Himachal Pradesh, the University, and the Disaster Management Act, 2005
Objectives
- To promote disaster preparedness and safety awareness among students and staff.
- To develop and implement the College Disaster Management Plan.
- To minimize the impact of disasters through effective planning and coordination.
- To ensure a quick and organized response during emergencies.
- To coordinate with local administration, Fire Department, Police, Health Department, and Disaster Management Authorities.
- To conduct regular training, mock drills, and awareness programmes.
